The Species is not called by name in the graphic novels |
Walking Land Creatures are creatures that are practically nothing but a piece of earth with legs.
Members[]
An unnamed member of the species first appeared in the book, "Hilda and the Stone Forest", and also in Season 2 of the animated series.
Another named Loam appears in the Tie-in book "Hilda and the Fairy Village" and in Season 3 of the series as the pet of Astrid.
A walking land creature has a cameo early in "Hilda and the White Woff", when David startles it.
Appearance[]
Walking Land Creatures looks like a patch of earth with grass, but with four white legs that allow it to walk. They also have a white tail.
They have no other distinct features like eyes, a mouth or a nose.
They can dig themselves into the ground to blend in with the rest of the environment. Their behaviour closely resembles that of a domesticated dog.
The ones seen in the graphic novels and season 2 of the series are about the size of a young deer-fox. Loam however is big enough to carry an adult human. It is unknown if this means the smaller creature was a juvenile.
