Hilda's dad is a so far unseen character, who has yet to make an appearence in the Hilda-franchise.

History

At some point prior to the start of the series, he met Johanna and they had Hilda. It is unknown what his exact relationship with Johanna was, or why he eventually left her and Hilda, or if he is even still alive (however, according to a statement by Luke Pearson, Hilda's father is around somewhere but currently lives apart ^[1]. Therefore, this might suggest that her parents are in fact separated).

Whaterver the case, he is no longer part of their lives in the graphic novels, animated series and novelization, and never gets mentioned.

Trivia

It is unclear if Hilda's dad will ever appear.
Besides never appearing on screen, Hilda and Johanna don't seem to have any pictures of him either. It's unknown what he looks like.
The only time Hilda ever mentioned a father of any kind, was in "Hilda and the Mountain King"; after Baba's mom turned Hilda into a troll and took her in as her new daughter, Hilda asked her if this meant she now had a Troll dad as well, but Baba's mom told her no, since Trolls are not born the way humans are.
