The Sparrow Scouts are counting the migrating woff.
Frida is particularly eager to spot a white woff
But then the bell in the nearby tower suddenly begins to ring, upsetting the woff.
Some even crash into the ground. The Sparrow Scouts help them back into the air.
When Hilda gets home, she finds her mom working on a new project. However, Johanna finds it difficult.
And Bartell has come to visit.
The bell near their village rings every hour, upsetting the Lost Clan’s life.
The Nisse are also disturbed by it.
Bartell is willing to go to war to silence the bells
Hilda offers to talk to the Bell Keeper first.
But when she gets to the bell tower, she finds the bell keeper is a machine.
Then the human Bell Keeper shows up. He is clearly not happy with the machine.
He alerts Hilda to a troll mother and child just outside the wall.
He gives Hilda some ear protection since the bell starts ringing again.
Greatly upsetting the trolls
The bell is completely automated. It rings every hour.
The bell keeper has been keeping track of woff migrations (they kept getting caught in his clothes line)
The mechanical bellkeepers are Ahlberg’s idea. He has them installed in all towers and soon they will ring the bells 24/7.
Which means the human bell keeper is out of a job. Hilda is determined to stop this.
When Hilda gets home, she finds her mom asleep on her drawing board.
She’s in luck; the project Johanna has been working on is for the new central belltower. And she has a blueprint of it.
With the blue print as a reference, Hilda and friends plan to sabotage the mechanical bellringers.
They have to sneak into the central tower that controls all the bellringers, and cut a wire.
Operation Deerfox Thunder Team is a go.
Thus, Hilda convinces her mom to go to the ceremony.
Ahlberg begins his speech, and knowing him it will last a while.
David, a.k.a. Bugman is on watch duty
While the Elves prepare themselves for the attack.
Tontu is also ready, though he doesn’t like his codename Hairball
Tontu helps the girls get inside the tower
They reach the control room
Frida uses magic to locate the correct wire…
…and Hilda cuts it. Mission succeeded.
Or not. Gerda activates the backup system.
The girls quickly have to come up with a new plan.
Hilda rushes to the top of the tower to try and disable the backup system.
The door to the control panel is locked.
But then unexpected help shows up; the bell keeper.
Too late, the system has already been primed. It can’t be shut off now.
So Hilda improvises and puts the bells on maximum volume
This overloads the system, and the mechanical bellringers are destroyed.
The bell in the central tower even dislodges
And lands on top of Ahlberg.
Hilda returns to her mother.
The Woff continue their migration, and a white one actually shows up.
The Lost Clan celebrate their victory
But for how long? With the system down, Ahlberg wants every bell tested.
Even the ones under water
Which wakes up something sinister.
