Hilda: A Netflix Original Series Wiki

Don't Let Your Love Fly Away is a song composed by Ryan Carlson for Vapor Music. It is featured in the Season 2 episode "Chapter 4: The Eternal Warriors".

Use in the series[]

The song is first heard on David's music player when he secretly listens to it on the bus trip to the Forest of Nott. When Hilda questions him about it, he lies that it is a hard rock song since he too ashamed to admit he loves light rock.

Later, David tries to listen to hit to block the sound of Hilda telling a scary story, but it isn't loud enough to mute Hilda. A while later David is assisting Torgund's clan in their battle against the Knudsen clan, he listens to the song for encouragement to actually get out onto the battlefield and do his job as messenger boy.

The next day, after David has his fear taken away by the Medallion of Sigurd, he is no longer afraid to admit his taste in music and loudly sings along with the song as he, Hilda and Frida walk through the forest.

The song is also played during the end credits of the episode, then song again by David (Oliver Nelson).

Lyrics[]

When I was younger

I was afraid to use my voice

Now that l'm older

My heart left me no choice

Now grounded like a lonesome dove

Don't think I have the courage for love

Don't let your love fly away! (Fly away)

Don't be afraid, to seize the day

Don't let your love fall apart (Fall apart)

Don't be afraid, to fight for your heart!
