A ferry is about to depart.
At the last moment this man climbs on board.
Though he has some trouble with the payment.
The captain wonders what the man is hoping to find Trolberg
In Trolberg, Alfur and Johanna are about to go shopping.
And David and Frida drop by to discuss with Hilda how to spend their Saturday afternoon.
When Johanna wants to leave, she is in for a surprise.
He’s Hilda’s father, and Hilda is overjoyed to see him again.
And Alfur. Whom Anders of course cannot see.
And he’s not a guy for paperwork. He hopes to settle things with a handshake.
Lastly, he meets Hilda and Frida, and is happy Hilda made some human friends.
Anders is not sure how long he will stay this time. For starters he wants to take Hilda out for lunch.
Frida and David are also invited. Anders will see to it Hilda gets home by five.
Along the way to the Salty Maiden, Anders is brought up to speed about Hilda’s adventures.
Two shadowy figures are watching them.
Anders hopes to stay around for a while, if he can find a job.
He tells how Hilda has her adventurous streak from him.
Frida and David both thought Hilda’s father was dead, since she never mentions him.
Then a shady man known only as The Polecat enters the Salty Maiden, looking for someone to do a job for him.
Hilda volunteers her father.
The Polecat hires him, and is willing to pay well.
He wants Anders to pick up something for him at the castle ruins.
Hilda knows a faster way, so she will come along.
The Polecat allows Anders to use his truck, which for some reason is quite dented.
David and Frida don’t trust this.
Father and daughter are off on their adventure.
Hilda directs Anders onto the shortcut.
Unfortunately, they get a flat tire.
The truck has a spare, but changing it takes some time.
Twig finds a belled troll.
He and Hilda decide to get rid of the bell, as Hilda has experienced herself how awful bells are to trolls.
As Hilda recalls her adventure as a troll, Anders begins to feel guilty for not being in her life more.
To cheer Hilda up, Anders allows her to drive for a while. Twig is not thrilled.
It’s already sunset by the time they reach the ruins.
They first admire the view a bit. Anders claims he and Hilda should go camping soon.
So she calls David, and hears from him what Anders and Hilda are doing.
At the ruins, Hilda and Anders try to find the thing they were supposed to pick up.
They find a man and a woman who are trying to pull a heavy chest out of a hole.
They’re associates of The Polecat, and not happy he send Hilda and Anders instead of coming himself.
Johanna is on her way to the ruins in the car of David’s mom.
But so is the troll from earlier.
Even with a rope, the chest is too heavy to lift out of the hole.
So Anders suggests making a pulley, using one of the rafters.
So Hilda gets the rope up.
As the haul the chest up, the woman begins to tell them more about this job.
The Polecat bribed a Vittra, who told him about a troll hoard with treasure.
He thus discovered the chest, which is filled with gold.
But the troll noticed him and chased him away, hence the dent in his truck.
Now that she knows the chest belongs to a troll, Hilda refuses to help steal it.
Anders backs her up, leading to an argument.
Then Johana shows up, and she is not happy.
Anders tries to explain himself.
What's worse: the troll also shows up to take back his loot.
This is too much for Gunther and Garth, and they flee the scene.
Anders distracts the troll, who chases him to the dungeons of the ruins.
Just as Anders finds himself trapped, the two shadowy figures from earlier reach out for him.
The next moment, Anders is gone.
Hilda demands the Troll spits out her dad.
But the troll shows her he did not eat Anders.
They search around the ruins, to no avail.
It seems he has just run off again, as he always does.
Disappointed, Johanna and Hilda return home.
