The Sparrow Scouts go camping outside the walls of Trolberg.
Hilda secretly brought Twig along.
Hilda shows Twig to David.
Frida is excited, while David is nervous.
They arrive at the start location.
Hilda plans to deviate from the recommended course, and visit the Screaming Stones.
David is not happy about this, since the screaming stones are apparently so dangerous they even frighten Trolls.
Hilda and Frida have the time of their lives.
While David only has bad luck…
…not because Twig licking his water of David’s face.
David is scared of birds.
When David is afraid to jump over a narrow chasm, he forces his friends to make a detour.
As night falls, the friends reach a hill overlooking the forest and the screaming stones.
It’s too late to reach the stones now, so they make camp here.
Hilda and Frida spend the night telling ghost stories.
David is not a fan of the stories
He tries to block the stories by listening to his music
David and Twig staring at the Moon.
When that fails, he tries to get further away, but ends up falling down a cliff.
He ends up hitting a tree and loses consciousness. When he wakes up, he is in a cave.
A cave occupied by …. Vikings!
David is greeted by Torgund, leader of the vikings
They want David to become their battlefield messenger, and are surprised when David hesitates.
When David admits that he is not that brave, Torgund knows a solution; the Medallion of Sigurd.
It will render anyone who touches it fearless for the rest of their days. But to get it, they must defeat the Knudsen Clan first.
Twig doesn’t like the idea, but David doesn’t want to miss out on this chance to become brave.
The Knudsen have the Medallion.
And they’re unwilling to give it up without a fight.
The fight is brief, but fierce.
David reluctantly joins in.
And surprisingly avoids getting injured or killed.
David is horrified as he backs away.
Torgund and his clan are victorious
The following morning, David has undergone a drastic change.
He suddenly takes charge of the group…
…no longer tries to hide his musical taste…
…and fearlessly drives away a bear.
The girls are not sure what to think of this new David.
They reach the screaming stones.
They witness a strange creature emerge from the mud surrounding the stones.
Frida and Hilda are uncomfortable about this new David. David brags about the fight from last night.
To prove his story, he shows them the corpses of the Knudsen Clan.
Then the swamp creature emerges, and uses some sort of potion on the Knudsen.
Which brings them back to life!
David warns Torgund. He and his men plan another attack.
Unfortunately, their new fearlessness also made them reckless.
Hilda pleads with David to stay out of this, but the boy too has become reckless.
Torgund’s side gets slaughtered, and David dies too.
Hilda and Frida rush to get the swamp creature, who turns out the be original owner of the medallion; Sigurd.
He admits that he has been reviving the dead Vikings for ages now, so they keep endlessly fighting each other over the stolen medallion.
Hilda makes him realize this has gone on long enough. He gives her the potion.
Hilda and Frida hoping it will work.
They revive David, but accidentally with his head the wrong way around.
Sigurd quickly kills him again so they can fix their mistake.
Soon all Torgund’s men are revived. Surprisingly, they are not mad at the reveal they have been trapped in battle for centuries
David is back to his old, fearful self, but that is just how Hilda and Frida prefer him to be.
Sigurd lets Torgund have the potion.
They proceed to have some fun with it, while Hilda, Frida and David continue their camping trip.
