Hilda and Frida are in the library. Strangely enough, the Librarian is nowhere to be found.
She even left her cart of books unattended.
They look for her in the secret room. Frida finds a card the Librarian dropped.
The secret room has a secret room of it’s own!
This is only the beginning. The girls find one secret room after another.
Eventually, they end up in an underground structure.
They have discovered the legendary Witches Tower.
It was underneath Trolberg all this time.
The librarian is there too; she is a witch!
The girls follow her through the portal.
The librarian has come to face The Committee of Three
It turns out she has only 2 more hours to reclaim a book that was checked out nearly 30 years ago.
If it is not reclaimed in time, she will be send to the Void of No Return
Hilda and Frida reveal themselves; the book was last borrowed by Matilda Pilqvist
To prevent them from getting cast into the void, The Librarian quickly claims Frida and Hilda will help her get the book back.
As it turns out, the Librarian already knew who had the book, but was afraid to confront Matilda Pilqvist.
Matilda Pilqvist was one of the strongest witches ever, and to find her one has to navigate a hazardous maze.
Now it seems they have no choice. The Librarian takes a wand from the frame of the portrait.
And opens the portal to the maze.
The first room of the maze contains a plant creature.
Hilda attempts to fight it.
Frida however figures out that the sword is the key to the next door.

They require several skills
Frida solves most of the mysteries
They even have to let themselves get eaten by a fish-like creature.
The final obstacle is this rock monster.
The librarian fights him off, while Hilda and Frida continue.
The girls find themselves in a living room
Matilda Pilqvist is the elderly lady Hilda met back in “Chapter 3: The Bird Parade”.
The monster is her gardener, Eldrid, and the librarian is her old student Kaisa.
Kaisa was afraid to face her old teacher because she has trouble memorizing spells.
Matilda however isn’t angry or ashamed.
Hilda figures out Cornelius might have eaten the book they came to get.
She’s right.
Matilda teleports them back to Witches Tower.
Unfortunately, they are too late.
It’s the void for our heroes
Matilda defends Kaisa and her friends, pointing out their various achievements
Unfortunately, they leave the portal to the void open too long.
The Void is hungry.
The witches flee
While Hilda, Frida and Kaisa are dragged into the void.
Kaisa does what she can, but she needs a book to find the correct spell.
With Frida’s help, Hilda locates the book.
Kaisa contains the creature, but the danger is not over yet.
So Frida uses a spell to open a portal, and brings the plant creature into the void.
The plant fights the Void, and Hilda keeps chopping the plant up to make it grow faster.
The creature is subdued.
Kaisa levitates them out of the void.
Matilda reveals Frida has the potential to become a witch, and offers her to become her student.
Frida accepts. But first, they will have tea and board games back at Matilda’s house.
