The street is closed because Erik Ahlberg wants the Vittra tunnels to be filled up.
The Vittra don’t take kind to their tunnels being destroyed.
Hilda know Erik’s actions do more harm than good. She wonders if he has a secret she can exploit to discredit him.
And if anyone knows, it’s the Rat King. However, he wants a fried cod sandwich from the Salty Maiden as payment.
So that is Hilda’s next stop.
Much to her surprise, the Wood Man is there, playing with some sailors.
And he’s just won, big time.
When Wood Man leaves the game early, and insults the sailors, he and Hilda get thrown into the trash outside.
At least Hilda finds the cod sandwich she needs.
Wood Man tells Hilda that he wants to find the Draugen. Hilda volunteers to come with him.
Wood Man has won a sailboat.
He only allows Twig on board if the deer-fox wears a scarf.
They set sail, but are unlikely to encounter any Draugen in this weather.
So Hilda intentionally angers a Weather Spirit
And soon they have a storm
A Draugen Ships shows up.
On board, they are greeted by the Draugen captain, Abigail. And Nicholas, who fears having a deer-fox on board will bring bad luck.
However, they have no intention to return home to their loved ones. They’d rather be Draugen.
And Wood Man only sought them out so he could steal a coral sextant from them for his home.
Abilgail is impressed, and tries to kill Hilda and Wood Man so they can join them as Draugen.
Fortunately, Nicholas can’t help but point out a loophole; Hilda and Wood Man can win their freedom by beating the Draugen in a race.
So a race it is. Unfortunately, the Draugen have the advantage that their ship can fly.
Hilda however is able to turn the tides by tricking the weather spirit from earlier to help them.
They win the race, but the Draugen are not done with them yet.
Turns out Wood Man still has the sextant.
Hilda has a plan; she quickly picks something up at home.
The Draugen sail through Hilda’s house.
Erik Ahlberg also spots the Draugen
Hilda hurries to the graveyard, and begins to summon the ghosts.
The Draugen and Ghosts meet. And recognize each other.
Families are united again
The Ghosts and Draugen disappear
And so does the ship, splashing Ahlberg with its remains
Erik Ahlberg takes the credit for getting rid of the ghost ship, and Hilda still has nothing to use against him.
And the Rat King can’t help; he found no dirt about Ahlberg.
