The Tide Mice are still living with Hilda. They made a nest under her bed.
But when they look for useful stuff in her bag…
…Hilda unknowingly takes them along with her.
In her hurry to catch the bus, Hilda collides with Gil, who is filling a vending machine with Jorts snacks.
This allows the mice to escape
After Hilda is gone, Gil sees the mice and feeds them some Jorts.
The Mice make Gil their new host.
And they begin to work their magic. Gil is summoned to the office of Wanda, the head of distribution.
She has decided to quit her job to go see the world, and wants Gil to take over for her.
Gil is reluctant, but Wanda insists. She has Gil sign the contract and then leaves by jumping out the window with a parachute.
As Gil takes his position, the Tice Mice are shown to be multiplying.
For Gil, his luck continues. The Head of Marketing is the next to take notice of him.
It’s the start of a chain of promotions, that eventually lead to Gil becoming CEO.
Everybody in the company likes him.
And in barely a day time, he becomes Employee of the Month enough times to fill up a wall.
But at the same time, the tide mice keep multiplying, and attach themselves to almost everybody at the office.
Meanwhile, Hilda, Frida and David are in the library for Frida’s witch studies.
Then Kaisa tells them the Committee of Three wants to see them right away.
The angered committee informs the kids that the Tide Mice Hilda summoned are still at large, and causing trouble again.
They want to throw Hilda into the juvenile void as a punishment, but Tildy shows up and prevents this.
As Tildy and the committee argue, the kids sneak out of the library. Frida suggests they could capture the Tide Mice and bring them to Witches Tower so they can be banished for good.
They search Hilda’s room, but the mice are no longer there.
David only finds their nest, filled with gold droppings.
The same droppings are in Hilda’s backpack, proving that the mice where in there.
Time is running out. The soul extraction of the new host has begun.
The kids decide to ask Kaisa for help, and go back to the library.
Kaisa knows where the tide mice most likely are, thanks to an article in The Oracle. Hilda recognizes Gil as the man she met that morning.
The gold dropping David collected begin to dissolve; another sign that time is running out.
The kids and Kaisa hurry to Jorts HQ.
And discover that the Tide Mice have taken over the building.
This calls for drastic measures. Armed with vacuum cleaners, the four protagonists set out to capture every last tide mouse.
The hunt is on
Though some fare better than others.
Twig does his part.
While David accidentally makes things worse when he xeroxes a tide mouse.
Forget broomsticks, modern witches ride vacuum cleaners.
Hilda makes her way to the CEO’s office.
And with help of scissors, separates the tide mice from him.
They flee into the ventilation ducts.
Fortunately, Gil is able to lure them out with Jorts.
They all return to Witches Tower, where Tildy and the committee are still arguing.
Hilda won’t have to go to the void, but she is cursed with mouse whiskers for the rest of the day as a punishment for what she did.
The witches unite to cast the disenchantment spell.
The Tide Mice are truly gone now.
The following day, Gil is back to being a delivery guy.
And it seems Wanda has been doing well.
