Brekkus the Thunderwurm is an ancient giant and a minor character that appears in "Hilda and the Midnight Giant" and the animated series.
Appearance[]
Brekkus the Thunderwurm is stated to be "Cursed with an unfortunate appearance", and indeed they look notably differnt from the other giants, having a slug-like body with a head and two arms.
Graphic Novels[]
Brekkus is one of the ancient giants who lived within the valleys before humans came. The giant only appears in "Hilda and the Midnight Giant" on a two-page image depicting the ancient giants. According to their biography, Brekkus struck fear into the little people and made the other giants uncomfortable.
Brekkus plays no direct role in any of the stories as these are set long after the ancient giants left the Earth.

- In the animated series, Brekkus has a cameo in "Chapter 2: The Midnight Giant on a picture in Wood Man's book the Giants of Old.
- Brekkus did not appear in "Chapter 3: The Giantslayer".
- In "Hilda and the Faratok Tree", after the Faratok tree sends her 3000 years into the past, Hilda meets the ancient giants. She attends their Grand Council meeting where 18 giants gather. It is left unclear if Brekkus is one of them as they are not depicted on any of the images nor called by name in the text.
