Bliða is one of the ancient giants. She appears in the graphic novels, animated series and the novelizations.
She was the smallest of the true giants. She didn't feel the others took her seriously enough.

In "Hilda and the Midnight Giant", Bliða is only seen on a two-page image depicting the ancient giants.
She plays no role in any of the stories as the ancient giants left the Earth long before the time the stories are set.
Animated series[]
In "Chapter 2: The Midnight Giant", Bliða is seen on an image in Wood Man's book "The Giants of Old".
In "Chapter 3: The Giantslayer", Hilda and Wood Man meet the ancient giants after traveling 3000 years into the past because of the Faratok tree. Bliða is one of them. When first seen, she is in a valley with other giants, and is carrying a smaller giant looking just like her in her arms. The way she's holding this other giant implies it's her child, though the Graphic Novel did not mention anything about Bliða being a mother. She is seen attending a meeting with the other giants where they decide they have to leave the Earth. At the end of the episode, they follow up on this decision and leap off the planet into space. Bliða is the first to leave.
Tie-in series[]
The events of "Chapter 3: The Giantslayer" are adapted into "Hilda and the Faratok Tree". While Bliða is not mentioned by name in the text, she is seen on an image depicting 13 giants. The image depicts two giants that both could be Bliða; one is being held by Aldinn, and the other is standing next to a mountain. It is unclear who the second giant is.
Bliða was likely among the 18 giants that attended the council held by Aldinn and Sigmund, where the giants decided to leave the Earth. All 18 of these giants leaped off the Earth when Halvor and his army attacked them.
