(If you do like this episode, that is moderately ok, this is my opinion). If i made a post like this a long time ago, i would've said the ghost is the worst episode that came out of hilda, but no the more i think about this episode, it made me realise what a complete failure it was. this episode, just everything went wrong with it it had no connection to the hilda vs erik arc throughout the season, the tone was all over the place, it had out of no-where dark moments and the all the deaths are just treated like a joke. Guys this is the lowest hilda could ever go and man i didn't even ever think about how terrible it was until a few months after i saw it, i guess before i go deeper why i hate it i guess i could be kinda nice to it, Fearless David is a funny concept and a cool one as well, the opening shot and hilda and frida getting jartled by david opening up the tent are such cool shots and the last line is actually pretty darn funny. But other than that the writers just wanted to fuck around and make a dark-humoured episode because idk. This episode literally has so much death in it and yet all of it is treated like a joke and the deaths (while there is no blood) are still insanly graphic and david getting killed is such a disturbing moment, yet hilda and frida are mortified a bit and then act like nothing happended, in my opinion this is such a lazy use of dark humor and also this just does not belong in a world like hilda's because there is no way of showing or establishing that something like this is going to happen, unlike in shows like gravity falls, amphibia, the owl house, steven universe and adventure time where they establish the weird, underling darkness inside of them in the first season such as tourist trapped, best fronds, slumber party panic just to name a few where they have some dark moments in them and later show them on in the series. Hilda does not have any moments like that in the first season at all, the first season is so light-hearted, wholesome and pure that moments like this are just shocking (but not in the good way). Also i think what doug walker and schafrillas said about the out of nowhere darkness in the good dinosaur, i think fits the same in this episode where it doesn't feel earned and doesn't feel like it belongs there because had hilda had moments like this in the first season, i would be ok with it but to just come out of no where feels like the writers were trying to be like the other shows and be dark and edgy. Infact the writers of gravity falls, amphibia, the owl house, steven universe and adventure time could probably watch this episode and probably think to themselves "oh well at least we didn't get that fucked up" despite everything we did in our shows. To any of you that will try and defend this episode by saying that it has dark-humour in it, so it makes it good, well that does not work because there are other shows that have done that leagues better than what this episode was trying to do, South Park does this better, Futurama does this better, The Simpsons does this better. although like i said the only joke that worked was the final line, but that was because it was actually phrased as a joke, child murder and killings of vikings is not fuckin HUMOR!!!!. but other than the cool frames (seriously this show has come a long way with it's animation) and fearless david actually being brave and reckless like hilda. This was one of the most poorly conceived, scattershot episodes I have ever seen. The Eternal Warriors get 2 out of 10 skeletal middle fingers. What do you guys think of this?
